So, a while ago I asked for your reviews on my band's recordings (http://www.myspace.com/thewage) and now that I've decided to try a solo thing, here I am again asking for your opinions. So, if you're in the mood, head over to http://www.myspace.com/ahoundfromhell and give those 5 songs a listen. I hope you like it but if you don't, speak your mind anyways!

Thanks!

I like the playing in Son House's Backyard and Hear That Train. however, and don't take offense to this but, the vocals make me want to tear my eardrums out. I listen to a lot of the old blues singers and the blues channel on Sirius, so I DO realize the sound you're going for. but on SHB for instance, at the end of each line, instead of trailing off into a bluesy type whine, it's more like a whiny out of tune screech. I DO like it though, the playing is good, just a little work on the vox. I can hear some Muddy Waters and Ralph Stanley in there.

First of all, thanks for listening! Actually, I quite agree with you. One of the reasons why I recorded these songs was to hear myself singing without a band supporting me. Believe it or not it's much more difficult to sing like this, with only an accoustic guitar. When I got to hear myself sing I thought the same. One thing is how one thinks he sings and another completely different thing is how one actually sings.
Thank you for sharing your opinion. I WILL work on my voice and the way I sing these songs.

    Anyone else?
