I have played guitar for some years now, but never been into the recording or playing with computer software stuff, but now i'd like to record it now and maybe put some drums on it, so the question to you is what softwares (hopefully free) i can use, and what i need more than a microphone in order to record the stuff.
Any ideas or suggestions???
-My electric or acoustic guitar
-My computer
-WANNA RECORD
-HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Get more RAM. You'll want at least 1 GB total, and the more the better.
I like the little Tascam box for an econo computer-based recording interface. Here's a link:

Obviously, you'd need to chase down a Euro dealer. Combine that with some sorta software like Cakewalk. It'd get you up and running....and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.0 -

That's about the only solution I feel comfortable offering in your budget. It's not bad.0
