Actually, it records CD's on the fly. You put blank CD-R media in, and then dub onto it just like you would on a tape deck. It apparently also has an internal 5-disc CD changer, so you can use it as a CD player as well as a recorder.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
