now if that's what you're going for...
i know its solid state but i cant afford too many tubes
the only tubes i can afford is the Peavey XXL and Marshal AVT50H
do you already have a cab, because what seems to be your pricerange you could probably get more tone for the dollar going with a combo

that's what i currently have, yuck. I'm gonna get myself a tube amp SOON. I'm not so sure why you say you can't afford a tube amp when you're gonna drop 400 on a solid-state head...then you'll probably drop another couple/few hundred on a cab for it. You can EASILY snatch up a solid tube amp for less than that, not to mention it will sound a hundred times better.

Right Here Pacomaco

Looks like it may go for a pretty penny too.
Lets also not forget about some of the older Mesa Boogie combo stuff ...
I know it was either you or MIG that says they like the Subway:
Here is a Subway Rocket

There are a few more ...
Also the combo
DC5 or DC3 ... which i can't seem to find on Ebay today ...
but any other day you could find one for less than $500.
These things are great, with 6 preamps and 4 tubes.
If you're really "lucky" and wanna go deaf you can find the more rare DC-5 combo with FOUR 10s "AYE CHIWAWA!"
If I opened it now would you not understand?

i know mccreadyisgod hates marshall, haha...i like the vox though
i think im gonna put a Marshall AVT Slanted Cab to it or Line 6 Spider Slant. Cab or Randall RA Slant. Cab
Those aren't tube amps. The Vox is a modeling amp, and the Marshall is a hybrid.
if you're budget is 600 bucks, you can get a great tube head/combo. I'm not a fan of the hybrid/modeling amps...go for the real thing.
for under 600 new:
Fender Hot Rod Deluxe
Peavey Classic 30
Peavey DeltaBlues
the above three are the main three that i'm looking at, and i'm probably gonna go with the Delta Blues. On Ebay you can get really good deals on the above amps i mentioned, or other larger amps such as Fender's Hot Rod Deville or Peavey Classic 50...still for way under 600.
remember also, that tube amps are WAY louder than solid state amps with the same wattage ratings...

Although this one is cool, and could sell cheap:

Another cool Traynor:

Why not another?

Which?
The Traynor?
Loud as fuck, though.
Oh, come on... you know you wanna...
man its a hard choice. too bad all i really am willing to spend on it is about 250, which i doubt will win.
i wanna see this thing get delivered to my campus. they wouldnt know what the hell would be in a box that big.
but i mean i barely have room for a 1x12 in here..
maybe if i was in a steady band.
i saw a converted princeton with a bunch of mesa mods that sounded pretty sweet, for 500 bucks at a local shop
they also have a 1985 fender concert head w 2x10 cab for 500
and that same traynor for 600.
im going to try all of them through ym set up this weekend and see how things go.
$430 is a helluva deal...
There are more bargains to be found. Have faith.
