I Tried Out The OCD

Today I found a store called ALL MUSIC. Never been there before, they have some really really nice stuff that you guys would probably jizz over.

Anyway I saw they had a Epiphone Elitist LP, so I asked the guy if I could try it out on one of their amps. As I said this I saw the OCD sitting in the cabinet so I just had to play that. They set me up on a Fender Deluxe, it was alrite. The elitist was just amazing, I loved it sounded the same to me as later when I played a regular Gibson LP.

The OCD was just gorgeous. I loved it, their price was a little high but this deffinantly makes me want to get it. They had a HP and LP mode. The LP mode was more vintage and rich sounding. the HP was more twangy type of sound.
I was about to play an Artcore but we had to go.

Great Guitar Shop and great pedal and guitar, lol

apparently, the later versions are somewhat different than the first issue with people modding their old ones.

just something to be aware of.

people weren't liking exactly how hi-fi they were.

i wish i was able to try one.
  • The OCDs with a later serial number (I'm not sure what comprehends a later number) has a little bit different circuitry. The later ones have a greater emphasis on highs and lows and lacks the mid range hump that the older ones do.

There is a 500K ohm tone pot mod and some other minor changes I think on the new ones, that everyone was doing anyway. He found out it really did sound better so he changed the production.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

i think i finally cased the distortion pro for a lead tone and got my overdrive going well from my rust booster so i've halted my OCD search. without knowing how it'll react to my amps, i'll just be frustrated.
  • if i get one that is a year old

    would it have the mod?

Oh it kicks all sorts of amazing ass. I used it tonight at practice and it's now a main part of my setup. I put the lead channel with the gain at about 5 and use the pedal on top for some really saturated gain and lead stuff. I was blown away with how it can get soo much gain and retain clarity. It's much much much better than the amp's boost function for a lead boost.
