How Do I Do It?

my friend keeps asking me to help him with scales and the pentatonics, he said that he doesnt under-stand anything online (niether do i), and since i go for lessons if i could help him, i told him to come over tomorrow to jam...but i dont know how to explain it to him. Any suggestions?

    There's a site called Kyles Virtual Guitar Lessons or something along those lines. Google it.

    It explains pretty well all of it. Or at least it used to.
  • well i basicly just showed him the major C scale and then the pent for the C

    Just show hom the pentatonic shape, then point out the root notes in the shape. Then explain to him how it differs to doh-re-mi, then show him the major scale in the same key and tell him that that IS doh-re-mi.

    As long as he understand that all he is playing is a series of notes from the scale of the root note.....wait, did that make sense?
