Wow!!

So last night at like 11PM, a friend calls me and says he's having friends over to jam. I go over there and we jam a little bit.

There was this one guitar player who wasn't that great of a player but his gear was fuckin great. He has a 1974x running through a 2x12 Orange cab with a A/B switch to a 59 Bassman LTD while using a SG Classic and 62 Strat reissue. Of course that was wayyy too loud so he just used the 74x the whole time.

They all left to get something to drink at 711 and I asked the guy if I could mess around with his stuff, he said no problem.

I know the Bassman pretty well so I didn't mess with it because I knew I would be sitting there for 30 minutes playing it and I didn't have that much time :)

I went over to the 2x12 cab, and hooked it up to my ycv40wr. MY GOD!! :eek: Sounded fuckin GORGEOUS!! It was so creamy yet so raw at the same time, I LOVED IT. So at that point I decided once I start gigging I'm going to get that cab to extend the sound.

Then I took the A/B switch connected the 74x with just the YCV (not with the extension). I set the volumes equal for my YCV on clean and the 74x basically cranked to get that amazing overdrive. I was having SO much fun! :) That sounded fuckin great, i wish I could afford that amp.

THEN!

Just as they were getting back I played the overdrive on my amp with the overdrive of the 74x and I was rocking just like a 12 year old kid just wants high distortion and go crazy...it was amazing :D

They got back and I turned around and they all laughed cause I looked like I was wacked out of my mind! :)

We jammed until 3am. But not only did I have that much fun. That same guy with that great gear, said to me what did you pay for your amp $1500? I was like WHAT?! NO! He's like that clean channel is just fuckin amazing and that overdrive channel is just as good you had to pay over $1500 for that. I was like uh buddy boy new its only $700 I got mine for $400 on ebay! He almost shit his pants he couldn't believe it! :D

    the 1974x remains on my must have list. it's the dark to the vox's bright.

    I wish they had a 212 version of the WR. That'd be beautiful. I have room in the house to crank it!

    But we did The Ocean (Zeppelin), Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap (ACDC), Crazy Train (Ozzy), Woman (Wolfmother), and Alive

    Yeah I know what you mean that's basically me and this kid Dan I'm friends with. He's fuckin amazing though, he plays like Mozart on his guitar and turns it into a hardcore song. That's the other thing all my "friend" listen to that hardcore screamo shit, so I don't really have anyone to jam with. But those people I jammed with one of them is a friend of a friend from college, so it's an older crowd and they are I ugess more open minded.

    I only really have one guy that I jam with, and the rest aren't very good.

    74x is fuckin amazing, deffinantly in the top 3 combo amps on the market right now :D

    It's all opinionated...i think the 74x is in everyones top 3 if not then 5
