My little E string popped once when I was bending it because of how the guy put my strings on???

I doubt that's what's wrong here, but who knows?

I think that means that your nut for the d is too small. Although if you've been playing the guitar for a long time and its only just happened... then the nut might be too big.

ive had the guitar for about 11 months now. I've used the same strings all the time, and it didn't do this until yesterday, the day before I played the same song and it didn't do it. There is nothing wrong with the nut.

Then my only guess would be string size to accomodate the nut on your guitar. I believe it matters, try and use a different gauge (slightly smaller) for the D

  • hey just a thought...maybe did you wind the D on the post differently this time? maybe from the bottom up and now the string is too high on the post? although on an SG w/the slant headstock that shouldnt matter but who knows?

its not a bad idea but I've been using these strings for about a month and a half or so now...speaking of which it's time to change them, hopefully that will work

You might have to have your nut re-cut or adjusted.
