Playing a Show

My friend Dan and I are getting a band together and it's going to be an improv show...

We are basically going to cover a few songs and just jam them out, we don't care what people think, just something to do

Set:
Foxey Lady (Hendrix) - Jam
War Pigs (Sabbath) - Actual song with singing
Original song I made up - Jam
Rockin In The Free World - Actual song with singing (Yellow Ledbetter/Little Wing tag)

Should be interesting to see how it works out...we are getting about a 30 minute set...we have to throw in another song too

    my band is playing a show in london on october 28th, first show...... 800 people :eek:

    it's a tribute night to a uk band called new order, so we are covering 5 new order songs then finishing with....... state of love and trust :)

    Best of luck to you, sounds like fun. I played about 40 songs at a Rolling Stones Sing A Long last weekend (basically Live Kareoke) on the Jersey Shore....What a bunch of fun!

    My advice (with 7 years experience playing in a Stones Tribute band all over the Midwest) is to be as prepared as you can. Promoters will not book a band for a second time if they do not appear professional/prepared. The only exception is if you can draw a couple of hundred fans who drink heavily at their bar......then you can stand on stage and and sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" over and over, because after all...it is a business in the end!

    There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

    I'm thinking of making YL an actual song :D or doing an Improv throwing some PJ songs in :D

    Maybe a hardcore song for all our friends going, who knows

    I'm not playing that show until I get my Deluxe Ash for the "strat" songs (foxey, my original, and YL) ;)

    If anyone lives on Long Island or the city and wants to check it out it's at the VPS (Village Pub South) in Amityville...date is not finalized yet

    try and get into Egan's Irish Pub (not irish, just a name) in Fort St. John, BC. Some GREAT acts gave good shows there.
