I just got a new nut on my SG and it plays better than ever. It holds a tuning better than ever, and it actually sounds a hell of a lot better!

I'm in love again with my SG :D

  • Nice! Isn't it great how doing one thing like that can change everything? Did you ever try the crazy glue trick at all?

Nah, I never had the balls to do it, haha

It cost only 120$ after the labor and setup...not bad. The shop is relatively new and the people who work there are in their 20s and 30s so I was a little worried about it, but it turned out spectacular.

As for Albany, I dont remember the section but I got tickets the day before the show. Upper deck, mike's side...2 sections from the stage, 4 rows up...Not bad seats. I saw Springsteen at that arena once and I was in the way back, last row but still was an awesome show.

This place called Maximum Music (i think?) in Mt. Sinai....its north shore. It's actually like 5-10 minutes from the Smithhaven mall, and 5 minutes from Port Jeff

Cool deal. I'll have to check it out one of these days. My parents live right by the Smithhaven mall, so thats convenient.
  • I have an SG Special by Epiphone. I know it's a low end guitar but it's all I could afford last summer when school got out. Well, it never stays in tune so I was wondering if there was a way I could remedy that...

Change the tuners. There is no point in changing the nut on that guitar, because between the labor and the setup for changing the nut, you will put 100-150$ into it.
