...i start using lyrics in everyday life....

this might be corny to some, so my apologies in advance....

today i was teaching my students about dropping the final 'e' when adding 'ing' to certain words and i starting singing "drop the e....drop the e!" (instead of drop the leash, of course)
then i decided to have my kids do it as a way to remember to drop the e...it was funny to hear them singing it.

also, last night while watching baseball, they were talking about a base hit up the middle and i suddenly sang out to the tv "there ain't gonna be any middle anymore"

hopefully there's a 12 step program for this behavior!

  • whenever anybody says "indicative" i always have to finish "..of my place left the porch left the porch!" since that was the first time i've ever heard that word, and when people say "few and far between" i gotta finish that too. one time i was talking to my friend about how with our generation about to take over the world and when we do the world will turn to shit, and he said "it's a worldwide suicide!" i couldn't resist :D

    I do it often also.
I work with a guy who's about 60 and a "true Southern Gentleman". Very well educated (The Citadel) and distinguished.
His name is Frank - Every time I walk out of his office I have to say, "Dirty Frank, yeah, yeah!"
    And then I giggle.
