Buying a new acoustic-electric bass, suggestions?

I've only played electric bass thus far. I am looking for suggestions if anyone can give any on a good acoustic-electric bass that has really great acoustic sound and good quality. Don't wanna spend more than 600-700 dollars.

i just need something i can play both ways cause i live in an apartment where the walls are like paper, and my electric wakes up my neighbors. i've been looking at those hollow body basses, i'd imagine those sound nice plugged in, and I don't really like the deep body of acoustics anyways. Are those okay to play unplugged?
