I've got a Fender Strat made in Japan. How did the quality compare to say a Mexican or American Strat? Just curious. I got it for walking a dog I never walked. Long story. Thanks, Mike

Well i dunno about the prices cos i use New Zealand dollars, but an American is more expensive than a Japanese and a Japanese is more expensive than a Mexican. However thats not to say an American is always going to be better than a Japanese. Some of the Japanese Fenders from the 80s are widely recognised to be very good instruments.
Americans are in the $900 to $1100 range. Mexicans are the cheapest I'm pretty sure, I don't know about Japanese.
