If you're a singer and can hit those high notes in the bridge, U2's "Angel of Harlem" has capo on 3rd fret.

My personal fav capo song is Damien Rice's Cannonball (6th fret, by the way).

capo on 2nd fret.......first chord is a G (sounds like A thanks to capo)

Lots of Damien Rice you can capo, as well as Coldplay, David Gray. PJ - Strangest Tribe you capo 1st fret.

If you wanna try RHCP - Under the Bridge capo 2nd fret.

or James Taylor - Fire and Rain or Mexico. Hope this helps

I think I've seen Stone Use it on "Nothingman" on the 2000 DVD.
  • for real? never used one for that tune.

i think it's in a major, so if you put the capo on the 2nd fret, you can use the open 'g' chord shape. i could be totally wrong.

John Martyn's trick over the years has been to keep moving the capo up the guitar neck, modulating higher and higher while playing a solo(and never stopping playing in doing so). He'll be playing in DADGAD or CGCGCE tuning, being busy with both hands, and he'll be moving the capo up a key every couple of bars to build up intensity. You can hear him do this on "Seven Black Roses" and his live version of "I'd Rather Be The Devil". Well worth checking out!

capo on 3rd fret for pink bullets.

not sure how possible it is to play Stone's part of bushleaguer without a capo. Tuning is: BGDGBD then you put the cap on the 4th fret on strings 1-5 only (leaving the low B open). This makes the tuning: BBF#BD#F#.

You don't necessarily have limit your capo use to songs that require them. I play long open mic sets and because all of the songs I do are by male artists, most of them are too low for me to sing. I find that using a capo gives my fingers a break. I mean.. barring frets isn't hard, but constantly barring for 6 or 7 songs is just plain painful. Seriously, man.. use a capo whenever your little heart desires! ;)
ONWARD!... but not upward... that would be weird.

Johnny Marr used the Capo on a ton of Smiths recordings.

Here's a few I play, that sounds great acoustically

    Smiths
There's a Light That Never Goes Out - 2nd fret
    Bigmouth Strikes Again- 2nd fret
Back to the Old House- 2nd fret
Please, Please Please, let me get what I want- 2nd fret
    This Charming Man- 2nd

    Beatles
    Girl- 1st fret
I'm looking through You- 2nd fret
    Norweigan Wood- 4th (I think I can't remember, might be the 3rd)
I never really cared about you
I never really got to thinking about you

    my fave capo songs

Radiohead : Exit music for a film (2nd fret)
    Coldplay: Green Eyes (2nd)
James Taylor: Youve got a friend (2nd or 3rd, i forget)
James Taylor: Fire and Rain (as above, i forget which one is 2nd, and which is 3rd)

cats in the cradle is another one with cool capo, i use it on 5th

also, i like to just experiment with songs that DONT use a capo, and try them with capo on 1st or 2nd, it gives them a whole new sound

eg Beatles: Blackbird, sounds awesome with capo on 2nd
