Does anyone know if theres any difference b/t the satin strat and the standard strat other than the finish and the pickguard color. My friend is considering buying one of them, and he heard there was some other differences. Can someone clarify this?

  • my friend had a Satin strat....this was about 2-3 years ago...i played it, the neck and feel of it is a tiny bit different....from what i recall the sound is a little more "ballsy" but not much....again i dont remember that well so dont take my word for it

the tone control is now "no load" greasebucket, so you can roll off and not lose the treble.

The satin finish may or may not be thinner than the urethane, yeilding a little different tone I can't vouch for that. I can tell you thinner nitro finishes, let you hear the sound of the wood in the guitar more.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
