im looking to switch my standard tele pickguard with one that is this shape:

but the holes for the pickup and the screws need to match up with the ones i have now cause i dont want to alter the body at all... its not so much a matter of function... i just like the appearance better... is there a website where i could get this made? or where could i get the material pickguards are made out of so i can make it myself?

Yes, here's a place to get blank sheets of pickgard material:
http://www.stewmac.com/cgi-bin/hazel.cgi?client=cc95af28c80d65c2e4979c600c5448b0&action=search&search_field=NB%3BNM%3BWORDS%3BSPECS&SEARCH_COMP=%3A&SEARCH_LOGIC=%2B&SEARCH_MAXHITS=10&SEARCH_SPEC=pickgard+material&SUBMIT_ACTION_SEARCH.x=20&SUBMIT_ACTION_SEARCH.y=13
You'll just need to get a router bit that cuts it cleanly without burning it:

Cheers . . .

http://www.pickguards.com will do it from a tracing I believe and there are several other sites you can use, http://www.usacustomguitars.com and http://www.warmoth.com
The issue is that it's going to be completely custom, anything custom will be expensive.
I'd see if you can get one cut for a thinline tele and call them on where to put the holes or you might have to drill a couple to make it work.My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.0 -
this is more what i had in mind... thanks alot... anyone ever order a custom pickguard through one of these sites before? just wondering what kind of price ill be looking at... im sure itll be worth it to get something of a higher quality than i could do... the thinline ideas not bad, but with the way the screws are placed on the standard tele pickguard there would be an exposed holes with that option... thanks again for all the helpPacomc79 wrote:http://www.pickguards.com will do it from a tracing I believe and there are several other sites you can use, http://www.usacustomguitars.com and http://www.warmoth.com
