Recording to PC using soundblaster question

I use windows 98 and I have Creative Soundblaster Live where you can plug the guitar into the front of the computer, but I dont know how to set itup so that the PC will recognize the guitar or will record from the Line-in port. Anyone know how?

    you use it just like a mic. Just make sure when you use it you go to your master volume and make sure the mic isn't muted. and turn the mic volume up in volume control too

    Which SoundBlaster card is it?

    Is it the original SoundBlaster Live! (ie: cream coloured) or the SoundBlaster Audigy (ie: black coloured)?

    I have the original one. To record from guitar, I have to switch that guitar input to line-level which is done by turning the level knob all the way down until there is a click. I then plug my V-Amp2 in and go nuts.

    I don't recommend plugging the guitar directly into the soundcard unless you don't care about sound quality.
