getting back into the guitar

i started playing the guitar about 4 years ago. i played it pretty religously for 3 years, then life got to busy and i kinda left it alone for a year. now i want to start playing it again, but it when i pick it up it seems like i've never played before (an exaggeration, but not far from the truth.) anyone else ever been in my situation? how long does it take to get it back?

    I put my acoustic down for 5 yrs after playing for 15, but didn't learn anything new after the first few years.
    I t didn't take long to get back up to speed. Have you put new strings on? It will sound like shit til you do.
    Get the metronome out too, always the best idea.
    Music is not a competetion.
