I;m planning on getting a wireless set up but don't know much about them. I'm looking to get one within the price range of 100-150 dollars. Any suggestions on which one would be the best for the money? I don't want to worry about cutting out during the middle of set.

Thanx guys

samson has a couple sets in that range. no experience with them though. most wireless systems run for much more cash. ie $300 for the samson airline or around $500 for the shure system.

head to harmony-central.com and read some reviews. that's usually the best source of information for real world reviews that i've found.

My biggest piece of advice: since you can't afford a true diversity system, at least look for UHF, and NOT VHF.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • I use the Shure ULXP4. Had it for about a year no problems at all. I am from Philadelphia area and I used it all over. I play in 5 against 1 a PJ tribute. Use it every gig. Anyway most big chain stores won't have in stock. They only stock entry level stuff. Is a little pricy but it is worth it in options and sound quality. I compared it with just a guitar through a quality cable to amp. No difference to my ears. Never had drop out once. Knock on wood. One time I was in Scranton and during sound check it was making some noise and I just scanned for the group that had the most open channels and went with that. Since I had we've probably played 40 shows with it and that was the only time I've even changed the default setup and it was easy. Go to the Shure website and check it out. I surfed the net to find the cheapest price and took it in to Guitar Center and they matched the price plus like $20 more off to beat it. They will call the store you found the best price at to verify so you can't forge a printout with a crazy low price, so be honest. Took like a week to get. Also if you call Shure they will tell you which frequency is best for your area. It even come with rack mount hardware!
