I want a good set of headphones to record vocals on our album with, but also that I can use to listen to CD's at work. I like to record at high volumes and also listen to CD's the same way. I hear sennheiser makes some of the best? I want a good set of headphones to use to record but also block out alot of ambient sound and make it harder for my co-workers to hear what I am listening to. Any suggestions?

  • Yeah i've heard alot about Sennheiser too, plus they don't cost as much as some of the higher respected makes for price sennheiser is good at least, if you can afford something over 100 dollars i've also heard Bose are good (but haven't really listened to them)

My recommendation to anyone looking for superior sound quality:

    Sony MDR-series headphones.

They have several models varying in price, I like these:

I honestly believe you will be hard-pressed to find better-performing and better-sounding cans than those.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • I am also in the market for some good studio headphones; any suggestions?
And if hope could grow from dirt like me, it can be done
