Changing Tubes

I have a Fender Hot Rod Deville with two twelves, and I've had it for about two years and figure it's about time to change out the tubes. I have never done this before and was wondering how difficult it is, and if I should even attempt it myself or take it into the shop. Also, what tubes sound good with the Hot Rod? I usually play hard rock. Thanks a lot

Ive never done it before but id say probably take it to a music shop/guitar tech and ask them to change it for you, but watch them do it so you can learn.
If they'll let you watch that is, they might be assholes and want you to keep putting it in for them to change every time so they can charge you for their time, lol.

those are places to start your search.

Also the US made new Groove Tubes Fender has been using sound good in those amps.

I like the new Tung Sol 12AX7's a lot it kind of depends on what you want to do tonally.

You'll likely need to learn how to bias yourself or take it to a tech to be biased when you change out the Power Tubes. Preamps are not as fussy. I don't know specifically how those are biased.

Find a tech near you at http://www.tedweber.com

the High Gain JJ's sound good and the EH 12AX7's are decent too.

Sovtek 12AX7LPS are some of the best for the money you can buy.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
