its an epiphone les paul standard...

great sounding.. great looking..

but the frigging input jack doesn't fit most cords!

what the hell is that!?

i have the epiphone studio les paul (slightly lower grade).. you'll see it right below the standard in musician's friend of american music supply magazines.. and it's fine. fits every jack i can find to stick in there.

is this normal?

and..

Is it possible/logical to have this part replaced?

  • It's probably just a bent piece on the jack, it could possibly be fixed but definitely can be replaced. Replacement should be really cheap, too. Find the part here:

The Mono jack is the one you need. Any music store worth it's beans should have the jacks anyways, and it's just a matter of de-soldering and re-soldering two wires onto the jack.

But before you spend the cash, I'd take the jackplate off and look at the jack, make sure it's not just a bent pin (see the pic at the StewMac site).
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • thanks, i'll relay that to him

  • Yup, bent or sometimes broken contact on the input jack like MIG says. There's almost no way that it would be a different size unless someone put the wrong jack on.

They're easy to replace if needed.
