i have a mxr pedal that i did the r28 mod on and it sounded great after i did it. it's been about a month since and today it took a shit on me. now whe i step on it it just makes a static noise and when i turn it off it goes to the normal guitar sound but at a low volume. any ideas of whats wrong or what i can do. i want to buy a new pedal but not another phaser. thanks for any help

    It sounds like a short somewhere... Open 'er up, check the wiring and connections. I would guess it's a break on one of the jacks (input or output). How about the power supply/battery?
    ...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
