VST synth plugins etc

My, the slow ambient setting on Karma FX allows you to do so much, with a few turns of the dials! Has anybody got any suggestions for good VST synths to try out? Googling only favours the most linked results to my question, and I've a feeling there's some great, obscure plugins or plugin sites I'm missing.

    the only ones i have any experience with are propellerhead reason (but only the adapted "light" version that came with protools and with my midi controller) and fruityloops (some cool bass things etc.)

    both lots of fun.
