Do you finger the chords the same way, or do you adapt with the low string being a D? Like a G power chord...

    Standard Tuning:
    E--X
    B--X
    G--X
    D--5
    A--5
    E--3

    Drop-D:
    E--X
    B--X
    G--X
    D--5
    A--5
    D--5

Other than that, I imagine the change in string tension might throw your neck outta whack, detuning the other strings a bit. Use an electronic tuner when you tune to drop-D and make sure all the other strings stay in tune.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.
  • when playing in drop d (wen e is a step down to d) you don't fret with ur 2nd and 3rd fingers, u just use a barre with ur first and play the d A and D strings. that shld sort out the sound.
some things once spoken, can't be taken back
