Recommend a good 4 track

I am just learning about all the shit involved in home recording (i.e. i want to record on something more complex than the tape recorder i bought from wal mart 6 years ago) and now finally have some cheddar to spend.

I am looking for something decent but under $300 or so.

Any help would be appreciated.

    You could buy a digital 8 track, the fotex mr 8 for 300....and you can even do more than 8 tracks if you bounce them. beats the tape deck.

    i have the tascam 424 mkIII. i like it alot. i really dont like the digital stuff. thats just me but the tascam was the best i could find for non-digital.
