We decided this morning, that along with the current bass player... the lead guitarist and I are "leavin' here" and will be the last show with the band.

I am relieved. I had been on the edge for a while... not enjoying interacting with the drummer... musically or personally.

So, we are considering an original project or possibly reforming with a new drummer and the new bass player we audtioned last week.

Here is the final setlist... Ledbetter to close... does it get any better... I will come up with some new lyrics for the occasion.

1. Rock ‘n’ Roll – Led Zepplin
2. Plush – Stone Temple Pilots
3. Jumpin’ Jack Flash (tele) – the Rolling Stones
4. Fight For Your Right – the Beastie Boys
5. Rebel Rebel (SG) – David Bowie
6. Little Wing – Jimi Hendrix
7. I Got Shit (tele) – Pearl Jam
8. Fortunate Son (tele) – Creedance Clearwater Revival
9. Mama Kin – Aerosmith
10. Ring of Fire – Johnny Cash
11. Smokestack Lightning – the Yardbirds
12. Wild Thing (SG) – Jimi Hendrix
13. Pride ‘n’ Joy – Stevie Ray Vaughan
14. Come Together - the Beatles
15. Big Bang Baby – Stone Temple Pilots
16. Aqualung (SG) – Jethro Tull
17. 7 nation army (SG) – the White Stripes
18. Used to Love Her (tele) – Guns ‘n’ Roses
19. Love Me Two Times – the Doors
20. Hey Joe – Jimi Hendrix
21. My Friends – the Red Hot Chili Peppers
22. About a Girl - Nirvana
23. Now I Wanna Be Your Dog – the Stooges
24. When the Levee Breaks – Led Zepplin
25. Black (tele) – Pearl Jam
26. Day Tripper – the Beatles
27. Sympathy For the Devil (tele) – the Rolling Stones
28. Unglued – Stone Temple Pilots
29. Rockin’ In the Free World (SG) – Neil Young
30. Train Kept a Rollin’ (SG) – Aerosmtih
31. Yellow Ledbetter – Pearl Jam

So... we have reached a climax and conclusion...

Thanks... we have a good variety of songs... that's for sure.

It just feels like the band has run its course.

Like is said man....its probably for the best, seeing all the problems that he was giving you. Maybe one day (soon) I will be going in the same direction as you and actually boot my drummer. Oh, and I love the setlist by the way...some of my favorites.

Plus its not like you are starting from scratch....you still have 2 other members to play with who are (hopefully) on the same page...

    I am considering an alternative.

get a really nice acoustic and lock myself away to practice singing/songwriting. Keep an electric setup too, but not be in a band for a little while...

    Options are nice.

Sometimes a fresh start (and not a new guitar) is a great motivator. As always, nice setlist.

Last show doesn't mean last post, so do keep in touch.

No, I am not going anywhere. I still like to talk shop and keep up with you guys.

I think a new start will be good for me.

I don't think I would ever be truely happy just playing by myself.....there is just an energy that I get from playing on stage. maybe a new drummmer is just what you need to give you a real boost.

It seems a new bass player and drummer may already be lined up... so that is a positive for sure.

Tonight should be fun... I am planning a new slide guitar part on 7 nation army... and a new intro/outro to Rockin' in the Free World.

I can only hope that when doing "Used To Love Her" that you change the lyrics to "I used to love but I had Tequila". Makes a great drinking song that way and a little less violent towards women.

when it hits you, you feel to pain.
    So brutalize me with music.”
