Does anyone know a website that is just basic and for beginners, that lays out the basic chords for playing a guitar?

  • hmm.. how bout this one?

from low to high, the number represents the fret you put your finger on on that string. X represents not playing the string.

    G - 3 2 0 0 0 3 -or- 3 2 0 0 3 3

    A - X 0 2 2 2 0

    F - X X 3 2 1 1

    D - X X 0 2 3 2

    Aminor - X 0 2 2 1 0

    Dminor - X X 0 2 3 1

    E - 0 2 2 1 0 0

    Eminor - 0 2 2 0 0 0

    Cmajor - X 3 2 0 1 0

Those are most of your basic chords.

This form is called a Barre formation:

    (F) 1 3 3 2 1 1 ~ (G) 3 5 5 4 3 3 ~ (A) 5 7 7 6 5 5 etc..

it goes all the way up the neck, its a standard formation.

the first 3 strings of a barre chord is a power chord:

    (F) 1 3 3 ~ (G) 3 5 5 ~ (A) 5 7 7 etc..

    it also works like this.. (D) x 5 7 7 ~ (E) x 7 9 9 ~ (C) x 3 5 5

pm me if you need any questions answered.. im sure 100 other people here can help you as well :)
