Any difference between a Fender Strat and Fender Telecastor?

Which one is considered better?

  • They Sound Completely different. I personally like the tone and feel of a tele. My main guitar is a 82 tele
It's really great when your in a limo you can put your head to the window and look out at all the homeless people-E.V.
  • Tele is a simpler instrument, tele is the more durable instrument. Strat is more popular as a lead guitar. They both can honestly do just about anything.... I think Tele looks about 1000x better.

  • the tele is much more mellow, and the strat is much more versatle. if u want to be a lead guitarist then the strat is considered the better of the two.....but the tele does have a nice lead sound! if your gunna be rhythm then the strat would be the better option because of the ability to be loud and clear and....versatile!

  • i've got a custom tele, got the bite of a gibson and the mellow tones of a fender. the tele has always been classed as 'the guitar players guitar' if that makes sense, its so damn simple but beautiful

    leeds 26/08/06....electric
    paris 11/09/06.....crushed...but estatic
    wembley 18/06/07.....oh yes

Teles have a much brighter sound (almost brittle sounding, but not in a bad way) than Strats...

I love both, even though I favor Gibson guitars. But my Strat is definitely more versatile than a Tele... Teles are more distinctive sounding... Strats can do it all...

i cant really say because ive played 2 teles and about 5 strats, but i cant remember how the teles felt, i have played led pauls and i rekon they crap all over everything though, so a tele does have a very distinctive sound i have played good and bad strats... the good ones have been really really good though, but a les pauls gonna be more consistent in my opinion. ive never been a fan of tele's, i just think their mega shit, but they may have been stereotyped. im only saying that though because of the up and down strats ive played... guitars are all about personal preference, feel it out yourself dude and base the decision on that, let your fingers do the talking.

    now, that's comedy.:)
  • I have a Strat that I love but over the last couple of months I've become highly addicted to playing a friend's Tele. I'll always love my Strat and my acoustic as well, but I'm really wanting a Tele now! I'm saving up to buy one right now.

teles are addictive, that timber is just beautiful when you strick a good chord. I now know why Ed plays it, perfect for the role he is in.

Have a strat too, but teles are very sweet for carrying the song.
