I have been playing drums since 1998..and i would love to learn to play guitar...any suggestions...on what kind...you know, the basics...thanks

    definately start with an acoustic for one.....
    they call them fingers, but i never see them fing. oh, there they go

    I agree, acoustic is where to go. Get the Fender acoustic package. If you have your heart set on electric, get the Fender squier strat.

    get an inexpensive (not cheap though) acoustic, and a chord book and some sort of starter book explaining the chords, some picking techniques etc.

    you've got a feel for music so you'll pick up the rhythmic aspects quickly i'm sure.

    download some songs showing their chords and have at it. play stuff you like at all times.

    lots of good starter books out there.
