Horribly cheap, very well made and they definately have their own cool little vibe.
I just bought a 1980 x250 with active eq, coil splitter and out of phase switch for $150. Set neck, brass nut, ash body with walnut stain, plays great and sounds really cool. Flipping on the treble/bass boost will make you ears bleed and sounds really cool when running into my od pedal. The pedal calms down the volume and has a pretty unique sound.
I may be about to buy a les paul copy. No serial, but from it's features I think it's somewhere between 1972 and 76. Pearl block inlay on fretboard with pearl custom like inlay and pearl "Electra" on headstock. Bolt on neck but also a very nice player with it's own kinda unique vibe. Pretty dang heavy too. Aslo included is a case(orginal?) and an old sears & roebuck solid state amp apparently from the same time period. Asking price $75.
These are just really fun guitars. If you find one in good shape definately stop and try it.

God, I love goldtops...
goldtops will get you laid
Well, that remains to be seen...
Although, the last time I had a goldtop, I was getting laid regularly, and that stopped around the same time I sold it.
Hmmm...
I've never been a huge PRS fan (great guitars, not my style) but a local shop had a McCarty Soapbar (read: P-90) goldtop for a long time. This color/style:

If one could find a single-cut PRS soapbar in a goldtop, that would be a PRS for me.
That's a nice one. I think a lot of them go for around that price on ebay, though they often can be had even cheaper. Probably a fair price though.
I just liquidated my electric inventory in a build up for something better. The only electric I have at the moment is the walnut stained. Electra I picked up for $150 and I got laid twice this weekend.
Damn Clark Howard, Good Job
