And no one sings me lullabyes
And no one makes me close my eyes
So I throw the windows wide
And call to you across the sky....

And if he chooses to do some Lennon, how about Workingclass Hero? I love that song too, and think Eddie would sing it perfectly.

THANK YOOOOU! :D I have seriously gone off about this in every "what song do you think they should cover?" No joke! That is without a doubt my #1 choice!! I cannot possibly agree with you more catwoman. Ed would do the song justice and then some. Talk about a perfect fit!!

If he randomly threw this in the mix I would be completely and totally beside myself. :o

I've done the same thing -- suggested it in every one of those threads that I see. Ed's voice with those wonderful lyrics. John would be proud.

I would love it in Santa Barbara or La.

One of my favorite moments of the entire 2003 tour was Ed playing it at State College. So many great memories that tour, but just hearing Ed's version that first time always brings a smile to my face.

Can't believe in one week I'll be in California. :)

EDIT: Which would also be perfectly matched to Berkeley... or diametrically opposed to it, if you will.

I'll take me some TRUTH, but only if he has to play it on Night 2 as that is the one I'll be at! I'm Missing out Night 1 only because I can't make it to both shows and I figure/hope that Berkeley Night 1 set is similar to SC set as I'll be in attendance there too!!!

I'm sure we'll run into each other...looking forward to seeing all the familiar faces and enjoying a couple evenings of excellent live music!! Might try to make the SC pre-party, but it's 50/50 at this point as I'm not sure what time our babysitter will be arriving.

    Peace!

Zanne that would be an amazing addition as well. Ed is certainly known for busting out a ton of the political babies around these parts. ;)

    hehe. Exactly B. :p

Aww and, Joe, that is definitely one of my most listened to versions! *chills* An extra angry one.
I can't get over how powerful this song is...and Ed just feels every word 110%! It attacks you everytime!

Just trying to put some extra vibes out there is all! ;) Thanks for believing though. The more the merrier.

    Totally agree.

Whenever I listen to State College, it's the first track I put on.

For me every show has a moment or two that sticks with you for a long time - some forever and just being in State College and hearing Ed absolutely nail that has alays stuck with me.

I dont' know about anything else but he fucking better do some PATRIOT for me at SC show.

I'm with ya there.. While we're at this, lemme put in a very early request for KNOW YOUR RIGHTS by the whole band at any one of the east coast shows. I'll be there no matter when they whip it out. Been waiting for that one for a long time and if they ever break it out, I'm definitely gonna faint. DC might be the best venue for that? ;)

As I recall, hehehe, in 06 SFIII got Watchtower. So yeah, I think he feels the Bay's vibe -- but then i kinda freaked and thought. "No, it's Santa Cruz. That's so much more his style. Something's gonna happen there! I BETTER GO!"

    Pulling Into Santa Cruz....

But I hear ya, yeah, Bezerkeley could definitely get a bit of love beyond "No More." Good call on the PATRIOT! But yeah, Gimmie Some Truth!

Heck -- I'd like to see what he and Liam could do with Watchtower! This show is so much more Dylan-esque than Lennon.

How 'bout "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay."

Dock of the Bay would be sweet!

But I do think Berkeley could get Gimme Some Truth. Santa Cruz is the laid back, surfer town. Berkeley is the protest town. Can't wait to see what he brings!! Plus with 2 days, hopefully there will be some more surprises....=)

Um, just a quick bump to say .... I WON!!!! hehehehe. With a Bonus McCready!

And yeah, even before Hide Your Love away, Ed said "this is Lennon's Dylan!"

But in the political spectrum (and heck, Watchtower has shades of that) the bonus track was "Here's to the State." Surprise!
