Well I had already heard this guys favorite band was pearljam. His favorite album ever is VS. So my respect had built up slightly. But did you guys see the end of the corny opening performance at the grammys?

wow. After they had sung "this love" the roadie runs up to him and helps him strap on a white "les paul" SG. You know the white ones with 3 gold humbuckers. He then proceeded to tear it up. I was impressed I must say. His true musical tastes shone through. He was soloing while some lame black eyed peas guy sang to it. It was weird and overall a horrible concept, but the guy showed some coolness and respectability. Not to mention his suit was nice. I can appreciate a nice suit.

Anyone else see this?

Yeah, after hearing a couple of their singles on the radio or on the tv, I was surprized by his "shredding" so to speak.

The only good performance on the grammy's was Green Day.

Across The Universe. What a TRAGEDY that thing was. Was it just me, or were the singers singing not only in their own style but their OWN key? I mean, the guy that held that together from implosion was stevie and to a lesser degree, bono. Nora Jones looked like she didn't know what was going on. At least slash stayed sober and played solidly.

  • I think it's cool that PJ is a big influence for him, but personally I think Maroon 5's music blows. Sounds like they sold out.... couldn't make money playing what they wanted to play, so they decided to play what the 13 year old girls wanted to hear. Almost as bad as a boy band in my opinion.
Cause I'll stop trying to make a difference. I'm not trying to make a difference. I'll stop trying to make a difference. No way!
  • not into their music

I could never get into Maroon 5. I neve really got into the funk type sound that they play. On top of that the lead singers voice really annoys me for some reason.

Yeah, I saw that...that whole opening sequence was kind of crappy though...I agree with the person who said Green Day was the best performer there.

I do like Maroon 5 though.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
