Question(s) about pedals

Hey all, I'm pretty noobish when it comes to pedals and stuff. So far all I have are two DigiTech pedals in their X series, the Synth Wah and Metal Masher. So far these seem pretty easy to use and get me pretty cool sounds. I had a few questions:
- I've noticed that I get a different sound than what's provided on the samples on the DigiTech website. Anyone know what a good default setting is to use on my amp?
- I was thinking of getting another pedal. Any recomendations? I was thinking about getting the HyperPhase pedal, again from DigiTech's X series
- What's the order you're supposed to put the pedals in? Like, I heard you need the reverb close to the amp, or something...is that clear?
Thanks for the help!

Just experiment, take notes and try to get the sound you want.
There's no "right way" if you like how it sounds.
not much help, but good advice, I think...
