It seems like all drum threads just die. Is there not much over for drummers on here? I realize Mike is amazing and probably attracts many guitarists to the band, but c'mon people lets talk about drums.

Or at least reply to my thread below and help me find some drum tabs

    an other and another
    holier than Thou
Bring it on cause i'm no victim
  • I sincerely miss those heavy metal bands
I used to go see on the landing in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
She fell in love with the drummer
    She fell in love

Shiny, shiny pants and bleached-blond hair
A double kick drum by the river in the summer
She fell in love with the drummer
    Another then another
    She fell in love

I miss the innocence I've known
Playing KISS covers, beautiful and stoned

Unlock my body and move myself to dance
Moving warm liquid, flowing blowing glass
Classical music blasting masks the ringing in my ears

Yes he is amazing...when I saw Zwan a few years back I was blown away!

Guitar is better than drums? I thought so hard about what to play, and drums just seems more exciting, plus guitar seems too hard. I love coming home from work and just bashing on the drums; there's nothing like it
  • the best drummer iv ever seen was the dummer in this queen cover band we saw around thanksgiving ..i think his name was Brett Millican .. .. or something like that ...he was amazing tho iv never seen anything like him before

    in no particular order:

Niel Peart, John Bonham, Tommy Lee, Matt Cameron, Mike Portnoy (you want some good metal drumming, pick up a Dream Theater CD, er... I mean download some tunes.... legally of course....)

    All solid.

There are some killer jazz guys like Dave Weckle, Vinnie Caluta, but the mainstream misses this stuff.

I don't care how good a guitarist in a band is. If the drummer is shit, the band will be shit. End of story.

I have been very fortunate to have worked with some tremendous drummers, and am myself a frustrated drummer. :)

I agree to an extent, but it could be said that Ringo is a shit drummer.

As mentioned before. Jon Theodore from the Mars Volta is amazing. Best new rock drummer since Danny Carey rose up with Green Jelly. He may give Carey a run for his money too.

I'm not saying he was better in Zwan. Although I have seen both Zwan and the Pumpkins, I remember being blown away by his "live" drumming when I saw Zwan. I saw the Pumpkins so long ago (94' I believe) I have no memory of his drumming from then at all.

  • What has 9 arms and sucks?
  • My favorite modern drummer is Tony Haajar.
  • You are so right, I do not play drums but I can hear just fine. If you got a sassy drummer then let the rock n' roll begin.

K-The lost will do their best to get home, if they are loved. To our soldiers who have given what they had.

why would you think that!? It amazes me that everyone thinks you have to throw down 16th note paradiddles with flam accents againt a 6/8 ts to be a good drummer...Ringo rulews...my fav. PJ albums are No Code and Yield - not coincidentally, that has a lot to do w/Jackie I's drums - he's my fav. PJ drummer...

Mick Fleetwood, Brain (I like him better than Herb) - hell - Meg White is one of my favorite drummers

(and I studied percussion at a performing arts academy...)

    flashy doesn't always mean good...
Said we'd write a book someday
About a boy who'd always strayed
And a girl who took the fog away
Man, if it could be that way
Then I would come without delay
With a smile on my face
And I would not be lost for long
And you could be my title song
