Heck, if it's a Gibson...that Could be a good deal. make sure you play it none the less to make sure YOU like the feel. Don't settle for anything less than your expectations.

There are the specs. I don't think it's in production anymore, I had to google that, couldn't find it from the Gibson site.

I think you have to play it and decide if it's worth $1300 or not. Maybe you could talk him down to the $1000-$1100 range if it's not 100% pristine.

The only SG Townshend model I find listed in my book:
SG Pete Townshend Signature (Historic/Custom Shop).
    Made from 2000-2003. Includes Certificate.
It's an SG Special with '70 specs, large 'guard, 2 cases, cherry red.

Low end in EXC. COND is $2000
High end in EXC. COND is $2400

Take of this what you will - I agree, play it first.
    Cheers . . .

They are very cool looking guitars. Earlier this month on ebay, there was a numbered one, the certificate was personally signed by Townshend and it sold in the low $2,200, was as new, unplayed. From memory there was quite a bit of interest in it. It also included a couple pf cases. One was a special flight case with "Pete Townshend" stenciled on its side, as it also had travel stickers such as "The Who," and "Fragile." The flight case had been "pre-tour tested" and came complete with bumps and scratches. The other case was a brown Custom Shop SG hardshell case.

Definitely play it before you make any decision to buy.
  • i'd grab it. they're getting harder to find.
me you wouldn't recall, cause i'm not my former.
