Help selecting my made in mexico's new pickups..

was thinking of changing the pickups in my made in mexico strat..here are the options

fender fat 50's pickups

fender custom 54 strat pickups

fender texas special

i want my strat to sound as much as mikes as it can

let me know wht you would select

    well, i don't believe the pickups in mike's strat have been changed, perhaps rewound if anything. i've never seen information either way. the 54s would be closer to the "true" strat sound from the time.

    personally, i'd prefer the better bass response from the fats or the increased output of the tx specials, but for authenticity, i'd say the 54s.

    mike's strat never sounds remarkably fat to me so i'd assume the 54s are the best match.
