hello there....
i have just aquired some recording gear (just being yesterday lol) lent to me by a friend.....
and i am juuuuust learning how to hook it up and such, and i seem to have hit a wall here
so if anyone could help at all or has any knowledge of either of these things, that would be greatly appreciated!!!
my problem is thus:
i have two mics plugged in to the motu, in channels 1 and 2, channel one is a vocal condenser mic, channel two is a piano mic, phantom power is switched on...the motu is powered on, and i am getting sound DIRECTLY through the motu, through headphones, and that's all sounding really good...... so it's there...
i have the MOTU connected to the computer with the appropriate link(firewire), and the puter is recognizing that it's plugged in (i know this because when it is not plugged in and i go to the MOTU console, it tells me the MOTU isn't there.. when i do have it plugged in, it recognizes its there and gives me the MOTU console with the options (44.1khz, optical ins and outs, etc etc.)
my problem is that i can't seem to get the computer to recognize the sound that is coming through the MOTU and record on to the puter... nothing is showing up on any of the input levels.....
i am using cubasis....
i am thinking that the solution is somewhere in the settings...
but where, and how, and what..... LOL
i am going to call the MOTU hotline tommorow, but they are closed now
so i am trying to see what i can figure out before then...
thanks!!!
