U.S. highway 1 strat

anyone in here have one? i know all about the finish on them but what about the sound.....do they sound like the expensive strats? because i've read reviews that said the pickups in the highway strats suck. whatever info you guys might know would be helpful.

    They are exactly the same guitar as the American series with a less expensive finish.
    My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    and a different bridge. the pickups may be mexican.
