Boss DS-1 is a good choice, or any kind of overdrive or fuzz.
My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.

    blues driver. bd-2

the ds-1 distortion is kinda meh
the sd-1 super overdrive is another possiblity although it has shortcomings too.

TS-9. Everyone else is crazy. Listen to me.

    Or a Maxon OD-9.

Unless you're flat-assed broke, then go with the DS-1.

But for overdrive... get the real thing, man...
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

And we're all weighing in with our usual recommendations. We should just have a Guitar sticky, an Amp sticky, a Distortion sticky, an Overdrive sticky, a Delay sticky, and a Modulation sticky. That way we could weigh in our opinion once, and be done with it.
