I have a mxr dynacomp compressor and i am happy with it...I haven't tried out any other compressors though...Does any of you own a dynacomp? What compressors do u use?Do you have any others in mind and want to try them out?The reviews in the harmony-central were so and so about dynacomp...Many people talk about the keeley compressor and analogman's comprossors...

if you're happy with the dynacomp, i wouldn't recommend splashing out the money for keeley or analogmans stuff.

one option though might be to send the dynacomp to analogman to be modded. this would get you closer to the performance of the comprosser but would save you some cash.

i have a keeley comp and really love it but i don't know if i love it $219US worth.

I love my Dyna Comp... it's damned nice... it's like the world-standard guitar compressor.
...and if you don't like it, you can suck on an egg.

Have you had it moded or it's the standard reissue version?

Unmodded reissue. Would love to have an original (and a matching original Phase 90) but I'll settle for the reissue. I really don't use it too much... or depend on it, anyways... but it's a great pedal for basic, simple guitar comp. Sure, the Keeley and Analogman (or any other boutique pedal maker) will probably be better, but will also cost a shitload more. I'm not sure if anyone mods them or not, but I've never heard anything about a modded DynaComp, so I can't vouch for any specifics. But for the price, the Dyna Comp is the best comp on the market, in my opinion.

ANALOGMIKE SENT ME THIS E-MAIL: Here is our standard reissue Dynacomp -> Ross modification ordering
    information.
Price for the 100% ross modification to your reissue MXR Dynacomp is $75
plus $10 for the optional painted case as seen on my web site
(ask for availability, we can't paint in the winter).
See my ross mod page for more info on the handmade Analog Man
compROSSor pedals, and for the MOD FORM to send in with your
pedal. It has a choice for the DYNAROSS mod and explains how
to send it and the costs. Please fill out and print out this form
and send it in with your pedal:http://www.analogman.com/modform.htm
Please send a money order (postal or bank M.O. is fine),
please do not send a personal check as my bank takes at least 2 weeks to
clear a personal check. For a mod on your pedal, if a money order is not
    convenient,
cash would be better for both of us (I hate going to the bank!) Most people
stick cash in the battery compartment so it is safe and I will be sure to
find it.Make a Money Order out to "Mike Piera" and send it with your
dynacomp padded well in a box, to :Mike PieraAnalog Man1D Garella Road
    Bethel, CT 06801
For shipping to me, US Priority Mail is great: about $5 plus about $2 insurance
(not really needed), and much quicker from the Midwest or West Coast than UPS.
Use FedEx or Express mail for the quickest turnaround. Use only the postal
service from Canada or overseas as UPS or FEDEX can charge ridiculous customs
fees. Please include a note that you are ordering the ROSS upgrade (you should
print out the form on my Ross mod page) and your shipping address, EMAIL
addressand telephone number in case I have a question.
I'll ship it out (usually by priority mail) as soon as I get it done (under a
    week normally).Regards, mike ~^v^~ aNaLoG.MaN ~^v^~ vintage guitar effects
