Does anyone have a fucking clue what is actually going on, guitar wise, in this song?
best i can figure it is in D ...
probably drop d ... otherwise there is no low bass note ...
but i cant for the life of me figure out what the riff is supposed to be. or wether it is just like a pedaled note through the verse with a shit load of effect.
it kinda works to play like the riff from the Velvet Undergrounds "What Goes On"
a barred D chord, then remove everything but the bar so it is Fret 5's all the way down ... then hammer back on the three 7th fret notes ... but it ain't what is really being played.
What do you guys do when you try and play this?

but i swear the whole guitar line is really some whacked out version of a D chord ... maybe up near the octave ... with a 2nd or a 3rd hammerd on somehow ... and some wierd fucking effect ...
but this is a good combined riff line ...
