Screaming

Last night when I played open mic I screamed at the end of two songs - one was an original and the other was a Beck cover. It felt great, but of course, my throat was sore at the end. Is there something you can take before or after to make it hurt less? Lemon drops or something? Any suggestions?

first..check out this website. http://www.voicelesson.com There are alot of intersting questions and answers available on there.

Bottom line though....if your voice HURTS you are doing something wrong. My problem is that I tend to push hard as well and It causes my vocal chords to swell and get worn out sometimes.....so I now have to kinda "retrain" myself to sing with less force. But it should never hurt when you sing properly. I like using honey lemon halls and drinking lots of water if it is sore.
