So my 10 year old wants an electric guitar for his birthday. He has never played before. Can anyone suggest a good inexpensive starter guitar?

Thanks :-)

Recently I saw a Les Paul PeeWee starter kit. Guitar, amp, books, gig bag, picks, and a few extras.

I think it was around $150.

i dont know if you're into secondhand, but i have a guitar i never really learned to play with an amp and a gig bag and some picks and stuff. it wouldnt be as nice as new, but if you're interested let me know. otherwise, im probably going to trade it in at the guitar center.

If all else fails, the Fender Squier startup set it probably about what you're looking for. Looks/feels like you're a rock star when you're 10. It's not really till you get a little older that you realize "Hell, I want a REAL strat!"

Frankly though, I found it more beneficial to learn the absolute basics on acoustic, then pick up electric after a couple months.
