I am 19 and have always wanted to play an instrument but for various reasons have never done so. I have finished uni for the year and have a shitload of time off, so i thought i might finally learn an instrument but i cant decide whether to go with the guitar, bass or drums. Any advice eg what suits what, difficulty, or pretty much anything that could help. I played football (Australian) for 10 years and have broken a lot of fingers for example and am not sure if this could affect any sort of playing somehow, so any advice would be great, cheers.
im the first man to wet my pants

whichever one of the 3 you want to take up is entirely up to you but learning any of the 3 is gonna take more than a year(obviously).

you could become a pretty solid bass player in a matter of months, an adequate guitar player but i doubt you'll be a great drummer that soon.

whatever you pick up, you have to practice constantly.

with regard to your fingers, the bass or guitar might prove the opposite, they might strengthen your fingers.
