recommend me strings for a telecaster

well not a true tele (samick) but it sure does feel nice!!

is there a preferred gage or namebrand?

  • lighter the gage the twangier, theres also slinkies for easy of play and twangier yet, then the heavier the gages the depth of the sound becomes more...there (i forgot the word to use) as far as brands go try a few out over the next couple weeks, and decide what you like, its apreference, like beer.

    for what its worth I use, GHS Boomers, .10, .46's on my MIM tele. I haven't really found the need to try anything else.

    hey wes, thanks for the ahem "feedback" i usually use 9's ill consider those as well on payday!

    side note : the strings on it right now are nasty!!! very old replacements im guessing 2/3 years old lol, but still plays really nicely, love the feel of the neck & the sound (even without an amp)

    I use Ernie Ball 9s, and thats what my dad uses on his Tele.
