So I've beeing going to lessons every week for the last couple of months.

At my last lesson I brought my electric, normally I bring my acoustic. My teacher showed me 5 or 6 lead licks, and Hey Joe.

Last night I was playing what he tought me on my acoustic, and it was the first time I improved a little (combining and switching around the licks...mixing with scales)....and said "woah, that sounds like something."

:p

It's a good feeling.

:D

Hey Joe is a cool song to know, cos you can just make up endless verses as you sing it, like at a party you can make up a verse about everyone in the room, if you are quick enough.
The intro is neat too, and if you learn the Add 9 flourishes (on the G and A barre chord) Hendrix used with your pinky on the high E, then you are 3/4 the way to playing Yellow Ledbetter, and setting yourself up for Little Wing.
    Music is not a competetion.
