Does anybody have a jumbo body acoustic? I just bought a talkamine jumbo. It is really sharp looking just has somewhat of an awkward feel to it being a bit larger. I like talkamine so far a lot. I've been told its the best "middle of the road" acoustic. Much better than fender, ibanez, washburn, yamaha BUT not as good as Martin, Taylor, Gibson obviously.

My main purpose in buying this was to have an acoustic electric to gig with. Mostly solo gigs

    I have a Washburn Cumberland Jumbo J28SCEDL http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Washburn-J28SCEDL-Cumberland-Maple-Jumbo-Cutaway-Acoustic-Electric-Natural-wcase?sku=516881. I think it's
an okay Middle of the Road JUMBO considering it included a case & the Buzz Feiten tuning System - all for under $800.
It's not a fantastic guitar, but then again it's not completely bad for a cheap acoustic guitar - I'm not fond of the BBand tape
mic and preamp (there's better pickups systems), but then what can you really expect from cheaper laminated maple back &
side guitar (I mean it's not all solid wood). The maple does tend to be a bit bright sounding, but mahognay has a tendency to
be way too dark & boomy for my taste, so I think I'd rather have the brighter wood in a jumbo body (since it's already a fairly
big boomy guitar to begin with). It certainly doesn't play or sound nearly as nice as my 814CE Taylor, but then it's also about
a 1/4 of the price of my Taylor - what do you really expect for $800.

What model Takamine do you have, EG523SC??? This model also has a solid spruce top, but unfortunately also has a laminate
maple back & sides (not solid wood either, but better than laminate mahogany) - but as you said, middle of the road guitars.
