is it possible to make a 6 string into a bass?
i have tried .Made it into a baritone-tuned a fifth lower than A regular six string. But it just sound bassier..not authentic bass..
would an octave pedal work?

The guitar pickups are meant to "hear" frequencies in the range that it's tuned into.
A real bass sends out frequencies way lower than guitar pickups, so you need bass pick ups to make it sound bassy.
Also, the short scale on the guitar doesn't allow the strings to vibrate to create those deep sounds. A bass has a longer neck to help the strings BOOINNGGGGG!
Also you need big ass strings to give that BOMP!
Also you need a bass amp that reads those low frequencies that move the bass speakers that move the air that rocks the world!
An octave pedal probably wouldn't work unless you have a bass amp to play through, but even then it still won't have that pizazz and hip shakin', pulsatin', trance causing, bowel moving beat!
Gotta get a bass I guess.
