how much did strats cost back in the late 50s?

    seems to me it was around $200 or something. can't remember for sure.

    if that's the case, factoring in inflation, one would cost about $1300 new today.

    no of course, back then, you were basically getting custom shop built guitars.

    well on average that's what they cost. The custom shops cost over 2 grand now days and original 54's are 17,000 and up.

    The list on a new American Series is about $1100 they usually sell for around $830
    My Girlfriend said to me..."How many guitars do you need?" and I replied...."How many pairs of shoes do you need?" She got really quiet.
